Those magical words “free” and “iPad®” still hold true when it comes to developing a great promotion. Our team just launched an eight-week Facebook promotion for Bazzini String Instruments called the “Bazzini Free iPad® Sweepstakes” and it is turning into a huge success!
The manufacturer from Germany wanted to target the US market of teens and music teachers for their cello and violin line. The most efficient way to reach this select group was through Facebook, which offers businesses an opportunity to reach over 400 million users using a variety of different targeting options.
We have had success with Facebook advertising in the past and felt that this would be the perfect vehicle to reach teens. “We set up a facebook account with Bazzini info and artwork and included a “Like” button to convert visitors to fans. In just a week and a half, we have over 1,500 fans and almost 2,500 who entered the Sweepstakes!” said Denise Schaefer, Account Executive.
Next, we needed a hook to capture these teens. What better way than with a chance to win a free iPad! An eye-catching Facebook ad was created utilizing three different images that rotate during the ad campaign. A website landing page was also developed to capture all the data of entrants. With Facebook, you can really zero in on your demographics. We chose teens, who live in the US, speak English, and whose “likes and interests” are classical music, cello, violin, Mozart, Bach, etc.
Not only did Bazzini want to target the teens who would buy their stringed instruments, they also needed to reach the music teachers who could then be familiar enough with the Bazzini products to recommend them. We did a simultaneous ad campaign targeting music teachers, also with a chance to win an iPad®. We targeted adults in the US whose “likes & interests” were music teachers & music store owners.
“Once your ads start running, you can monitor your campaign in real time. Your reports will show you how your ads are performing with data such as the number of impressions, clicks and click through rate (CTR). At any time, you can change your creative or copy to maximize results. This is a real plus when you are on a limited budget” says Michael Kitakis.
Both campaigns are doing great and we have over six more weeks to go. Grace Newman, Marketing Director of Connolly Music Company, distributor of Bazzini String Instruments in the US says, “I think Facebook is a great way to reach my target audience and I’m glad this promotion was recommended. We’ve seen positive results so far”.
